Black Friday Frenzy

Black Friday - the Day after Thanksgiving is the most awaited for shopaholics. This time My husband n I were part of all the huzzle n buzzle of the market. We made the best of the quote "Shop till you drop " starting from 4 am in the morning till late afternoon , took a break just for the breakfast (which was essential fuel to continue on ).

All the malls and shops were so jam -packed!! , like everything was for free.It was like Dhan Teras (Two days before Diwali in India) To my amazement I saw queue on the door of Circuit-city store the day before Black Friday !! People have had their folding chairs n blankets with them so they waited whole night just to be first ones to get inside the store when the doors opened at 4:00 am .The temperature was 30 F (0 C) . Of course, some deals were really worth -waiting but still , whole night .

Maybe in a few yrs we ll catch up , but now I just can't imagine myself in the queue . I am too big a sleep lover for that.Anyways , we got all the things we were looking and very good deals too.

Atomic watches I want them all

As soon as I saw Casio Atomic watch the first thought which stuck me was I want to gift this to my hubby. They have almost all the coolest features - style , dual time zones n solar power .

Then I started collecting all the details about the watch and got to know that its wireless receives atomic time updates so u don't have to worry about day light saving or different time zones .So, u can roam about anywhere , everywhere hassle - free .

But, there is a glitch and big one too .Being an Indian I was worried if we move to India would it work there too So , I mailed Casio directly and I got a prompt negative reply . India doesn't have one of those Global atomic Clocks (OH , no !!!!!!!!!!How much I hate this ).

I hope soon we in India will get Global Atomic Clock and the watch would be the most giftable gift I would be able to buy. SOmeday, soon ......

Kindle -Amazon's new Gadget

OH my GOD!!!!!!!!Kindle is so cool . Just watching the video of Kindle made me feel so overexcited that I have had goose bumps. What can a book lover need more than Kindle.

The coolest feature of Kindle is that u can use it anywhere u want without worrying about Wifi spot (It simply uses the cellphone advanced tech , whatever it is )and can read it even in sunlight (which u can never imagine with your laptop). How much I craved for this feature in my Laptop .I remember all the few days in Seattle when there is bright sunlight outside and I took my laptop in the patio but to no avail . U can't see the screen in sunlight .So either enjoy sun or access ur laptop.

One more thing which adds one more feather in its sleeve is its Style Quotient .It is sleek and lightweight too .

My only concern is if I buy it in US would it work in India too and the cost its little on the higher side for my budget.

Anyways, I feel its totally so Awesome ............!!!!!!!

Gatte ke sabzi recipe (A rajasthani delight)

When I was kid , this was one of the recipe I always disliked. After getting married I noticed that Rajasthani cusine is my hubby's weakness . So, started the gatte sabzi trial sessions n now I consider myself really good in preparing this curry.

So, here is the recipe .

Ingredients:
besan (gram flour) 1 cup
yogurt 1/4 cup
Onion (big )1
green chilly 3
ginger
garlic (1 -2 flakes)
Oil 3 tsp

turmeric powder 3/4 spoon
chilly powder 1/2 spoon
coriander powder 1 1/2tsp
garam masala(optional)1/4 tsp
salt

Method:
1).
take besan in a bowl , add just a liitle turmeric , chilly powder and salt to it(pinch or two of each ), add 1/2 tsp of oil and knead it in stiff dough (use water if reqd). keep it aside .
2).
grate ginger and garlic n onion and green chillies .(I use blender for onion n grater for ginger , garlic)
3).
Put 3 glasses of water to boil on high heat and i n the mean time make 3-4 long strips of dough .Don't make the strips two thin .
4).
Put these strips in boiled water , cover the vessel and keep it on high heat for 15-20 min.
(I usually pressure cook them for 2 whistles and let the cooker cool down)Don't throw the water .
5)
Take oil in pan (high heat), add mustard and jeera , pinch of hing (optional ), add ginger and garlic fry for 30 sec and then add onion paste. fry till onion leave oil.turn the gas on med heat Now add yoghurt give a stir , in 2-3 min oil ll start separating .
6)
Add dry masala except garam masala , cook till it becomes like gravy .(I keep putting a few drops of water in few seconds to make it thicker of gravy consistency).
7)
Cut the strips into 1/2 inch size by using knife .put them in the gravy also add the boiled water Let them simmer for 20 min on medium heat . keep checking(u can also add more water if u want )
8)
Add salt and garam masala.

You can serve it with fulka or rice.
